This program offers an option to earn two Degrees - MBA from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and MS Degree from VCU, USA, through credit transfer facility. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded two degrees from two universities in two years with an international exposure of 9 months in USA.

MS SPECIALISATION PROGRAM IN VCU, USA

MS Business in Finance:

Finance students will gain extensive training and skills in financial decision making in the areas of corporate financial management, investment banking and international finance. In order to succeed in this program, students should be inclined towards learning mathematics, statistics and accounting.

MS Business in Global Marketing Management:

This specialization offers an opportunity to concentrate in marketing management as well as in International Business. This program is well suited for those who wish to pursue career in global market place. In order to succeed, students should be inclined towards improving interpersonal communication, presentation skills, creativity & empathy, analytics.

MS Business in Master of Sport Leadership:

"The Master of Sport Leadership is designed to prepare students for work in positions of influence within the sports industry. MS in Information Systems (*STEM Program):

This specialization prepares students for positions in information technology management. While the management oriented students can focus on planning, organizing, managing, designing, configuring and implementing of information systems, technically oriented students can focuses on the design and development of information systems to solve real-world problems. In order to be successful, you have to be inclined towards appreciating technology.

Masters in Decision Analytics (*STEM Program):

This specialization focusses on quantitative methods & application of quantititave methods to decision making process. Students can further choose an application domain of their interest, depending upon individual student interests and adviser approval, by choosing relevant elective courses. In order to be successful, you have to be inclined towards learning statistics and using statical software packages.

*Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM, previously SMET) is an acronym that refers to the academic disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. According to the US Department of Commerce, the growth of STEM-related jobd over the last 10 years was three times that of non-STEM fields.

CAMPUS JOBS

During the first semester in VCU, students are generally encouraged to focus on studies as transition into new education system could be challenging. However, students may opt to work on campus during the second semester. The very top students with excellent academic record and superior communication skills are usually invited to apply for a limited number of Graduate Assistanceship positions. Others may have to consider non-academic positions.

OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING (OPT)

OPT is a paid internship facility provided for international students to undertake paid internship under student visa (work visa not required). The main purpose of OPT is to help students acquire practical experience in the field of their study. Normal duration of OPT is 12 months. However, students in STEM specializations viz., Information Systems and Decision Analytics can extend OPT by another two years (24 months).

HOSTEL FACILITIES

It is compulsory for students to stay in hostels on VCU campus. Students can choose either a single room or a double sharing room. Each hostel unit will have 2-4 rooms, a living room with furniture and fully equipped kitchenette. Though TV is not provided in the units, students may purchase their own TV on arrival.

STUDENT SAFETY IN VCU

Thanks to the VCU Police Department and the University’s extensive emergency information systems emergency information systems, the VCU community is accustomed to feeling safe, informed, and prepared. VCU Police patrolling campus and the surrounding areas on bikes, in cars and on foot provide 24-hour protection. You can access them immediately by using one of the 350 easily identifiable yellow emergency telephones located throughout campus. Emergency phones also connect students VCU’s RamSafe, which provides escorts if you are heading home from a late-night class or meeting. In addition to regular patrols, VCU Police also offers services such as bike and laptop registration, alert text and email messaging, residential hall security, campus cameras and more.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS & VISA

"Before going to VCU, all CHRIST (Deemed to be University) students must subscribe to a health insurance plan to cover medical emergencies during second year in VCU. Both CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and VCU will facilitate the process.Both CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and VCU will facilitate VISA process.
